World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. WWE 0.24% is holding its annual Money in the Bank event on Sunday.
To commemorate this year’s show, Benzinga came up with a list of the nine wrestlers with the most money in their personal bank accounts. The list is based on net worth estimates from website Celebrity Net Worth.
No matter which performers come out on top on Sunday, these nine performers are the true “money in the bank” winners.
9. Brock Lesnar: $22 million
Lesnar is the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion and is also a former UFC Heavyweight Champion as well. Lesnar is expected to main-event WWE’s second-biggest event of the year, Summerslam, in August.
8. Kurt Angle: $25 million
Angle is a former Olympic gold medalist in amateur wrestling, but was a 2017 inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame as well. His character currently serves as the on-air general manager of Raw.
7. Hulk Hogan: $25 million
Hogan was the biggest professional wrestling star of the 1980s and one the biggets of the 1990s. Over the years, he also dabbled in acting and reality TV and landed a number of lucrative endorsement deals as well.
6. Triple H: $40 million
Paul “Triple H” Levesque still performs in the ring from time-to-time, but he has taken over behind the scenes as the executive vice president of talent, live events and creative for WWE. Levesque is the son-in-law of CEO Vince McMahon, and he and his wife Stephanie are seen as the heirs apparent to current Vince.
5. Stephanie McMahon: $45 million
McMahon is both an on-air talent for WWE and its chief brand officer behind the scenes. McMahon previously served as senior vice president of creative writing and executive vice president of creative.
4. Steve Austin: $50 million
“Stone Cold” Steve Austin is one of the most recognizable names in the history of professional wrestling. Austin has been retired from the ring since 2003, but he still hosts the Stone Cold Podcast and makes non-wrestling appearances for WWE from time-to-time.
3. John Cena: $55 million
Cena has been the top star in WWE for more than a decade, although he has taken time off from wrestling in recent years to pursue outside interests such as acting. Cena’s acting credits include movies “12 Rounds,” “The Marine” and “Trainwreck.”
2. Dwayne Johnson: $190 million
If it weren’t for a brief return to the ring to main event Wrestlemanias 28 and 29, younger fans of “The Rock” may only know him as Hollywood’s leading action star. Of all the WWE performers that have attempted to transition to the acting world, Johnson has been the most successful, and his bank account surely shows it.
