Walt Disney Co DIS 0.14%‘s “Zootopia” was the top draw at the box office for the second weekend in a row. The animated movie earned an estimated $50 million, bringing its total to $142 million.
The film breezed past the $100 million mark in only eight days, making it one of the most successful openings in animated movie history. But how does the movie stack up against the top animated films of all times?
According to BoxOfficeMojo, it took one of the top grossing animated films of all time, Disney’s “Frozen,” 13 days to reach the $100 million mark. “Frozen” ended up grossing a total of $400.7 million dollars. Disney and its shareholders would be thrilled if “Zootopia” hits anything near that high water mark.
