The decision by New Jersey-based toy retailer Toys “R” Us to seek Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection makes it the latest victim of the difficult retail environment. However, the company’s struggles could mean a big victory for Amazon.com (Nasdaq: AMZN) and Wal-Mart Stores (WMT).

After a big post-earnings move on Thursday, BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ: BBRY) stock was up another 5.5 percent Friday. The stock’s 21 percent three-day surge has gotten technical traders’ attention, and BlackBerry’s upward momentum may have some very important technical levels in play in coming days.

The trucking industry may soon enjoy a major uptick in pricing. Despite strong stock performances among trucking stocks of late, Stifel analyst John Larkin saw enough evidence that trucking rate hikes are on the horizon to upgrade J B Hunt Transport Services Inc JBHT 0.2%, Heartland Express, Inc. HTLD 1.36% and USA Truck, Inc. USAK 2.06% from Hold to Buy on Thursday.

Tesla Inc TSLA 3.15% may release third quarter vehicle delivery numbers within the next several days, and Tesla bulls are hoping the update will lift Tesla stock out of its recent funk. Tesla stock is down 7.5 percent in the past three months as Model 3 production begins. 

The Nevada state gaming control board released its report Friday on gaming revenue for the Las Vegas area in August. 

Rovio Entertainment, creator of the Angry Birds empire, held an under-the-radar IPO this week that valued the mobile gaming company at $1 billion. However, investors won’t see Rovio shares trading on the U.S. big boards Friday. The company, which is based in Finland, opted only to list on the Finland stock exchange.

Finish Line Inc FINL 1.51% stock is up more than 26 percent in the past five trading sessions on rumors of a potential buyout by the U.K. company Sports Direct. A deal would likely come at a steep premium to Finish Line’s recent market price, Wells Fargo analyst Tom Nikic said Thursday.
