Let’s face it: Politicians are not known for their honesty. Look no further than Donald Trump’s Twitter account to see a clear example of typical political spin.
On Friday, Trump tweeted that former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg’s last term in office was “a disaster.”
The tweet was seemingly in response to Bloomberg’s criticism of Trump at the Democratic National Convention this week, when Bloomberg said, “The richest thing about Donald Trump is his hypocrisy.”
Back in 2012, Trump was singing a different tune about Bloomberg’s time as mayor.
“Mike Bloomberg is doing a great job as Mayor of New York City,” Trump tweeted on April 12, 2012.
While Clinton supporters can roll their eyes and share this story on Facebook, Clinton herself is guilty of the exact same kind of truth-bending and political spin. Unfortunately for Clinton, voters don’t seem to be forgiving her dishonesty.
In a CBS News poll last week, 56 percent of voters said that Donald Trump is not honest or trustworthy. While that may seem high for a presidential candidate, an incredible 67 percent of voters said the same of Hillary Clinton.
