In 2013, nearly 70 million international visitors came to the U.S.

Where did they travel? According to the ITA Office of Travel and Tourism, here are the top ten American travel destinations for international visitors.

10. Boston, Massachusetts

In addition to visiting the beautiful campuses of world-class colleges such as Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, travelers to Boston can walk the Freedom Trail and see landmarks such as the U.S.S. Constitution, the site of the Boston Massacre and the Bunker Hill Monument.

9. Chicago, Illinois

The 15 miles of public beaches, the Art Institute of Chicago and the Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower), once the world’s tallest building, are among the attractions for international visitors.

8. Washington, D.C.

International visitors flock to the nation’s capital to see the White House, the Lincoln Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, the Washington Monument and countless other memorials and monuments that pay tribute to the nation’s rich history.
