Despite Falling 1 Tony Short Of Record, ‘Hamilton’ Success Is Unprecedented

The hit Broadway musical “Hamilton” fell one Tony Award short of the all-time record held by “The Producers” by racking in an impressive 11 Tonys on Sunday night. Despite this “miss,” “Hamilton” has already broken a number of box office records and is unquestionably one of the biggest Broadway hits of all time.

“Hamilton” has been breaking Broadway records literally from day one. Back in November, a production spokesperson revealed that the musical had logged a record $57 million in advanced ticket sales.
